Books!
It was located at the Civic Hall place in Bandar Utama 3, near nanny dew's house. Books as low as RM2! But of course those cost RM2 were mostly rubbish stuff. I did, however, purchase quite a few books that cost me... less than 10 bucks.
When i arrived i saw a number of aunties coming out of the hall holding large burgeoning plastic bags full of books (or maybe Barbie Dolls, and various family board game sets as they well on sale too).
Bustling with people. It was rather stuffy in the hall as there wasn't any air conditioning. Naturally i perspired like some crazy labour animal.
The "decent-enough-to-be-decently-arranged" books were, well, decently arranged in this picture. These includes the relatively new books like P.S. I love You, The Book Thief (which i wanted to buy but didn't) and some glossy self help books.
Those RM2-20 books were those cheaplak ones, unsorted and haphazardly chucked together onto shelves. This was where the bargain hunters were, filing through books feverishly trying to find a book that they might like. This was where i found this fun little book called "The Basketball Book" for 10 bucks (7, after they deducted a further 30% as i was a CIMB card holder!).
***
Books that i bought. 7 of them altogether. I chose three John Grisham books. I never actually read John Grisham but all of his books seemed to be #1 New York Times Bestsellers so i guess they can't be too bad. Also purchased were Memoirs of a Geisha and Wintersmith (by Terry Pratchett.. ennie's always gushing on and on about Prat... Chett. So... Let's see).
Now. I was delighted to find Act of Treason in the warehouse sales, perched on top of a decently arranged shelf shoved away in a secluded corner.
Latest addition to my collection of Vince Flynn Books. :) :)
Quite a good haul today, i would say.

Rain
Let me play basketball today.
So i finally managed to play today and the weather was fan-freakin-tastic. Cool and breezy. No rain. Best basketball condition, i would say. Since it's cool, you don't get tired quite so easily. V good. I hope we can have such weather every night. XD

Food
Friday
I consumed crab fried rice again at Murni SS2, along with a humongous cup of blended Ribena (served with grotesque lychee which i detest with undying passion!) which i was unable to finish! The pics above and below are pictures of crab fried rice. I didn't take it on the day itself but i had some in my computer from my previous visits.
Another variant of the soft shelled crab rice. The rice and the crabs are pretty standard. The french fries and stuff are the only items that differ from time to time. Sometimes fries. Sometimes wedges. Sometimes fish crackers. Or a combo of two. Soft shelled crab fried rice is extremely filling. That's right. You don't mess with the crab fried rice!
Blended ribena. This pic was taken a long time ago and has longan inside, for which you have to ask. Otherwise, they'll chuck in chunks of disgusting rotten-looking lychee inside. Blended Ribena is large, with watermelon squares and nata de coco inside. Just a tip. If you eat crab rice, order a small drink, or you won't be able to finish it. And this is coming from a glutton who can eat lots.
Saturday was insane. Lunch with NSC and brown bear and we ate chicken + roasted pork rice at Wai Sek Gai SS2 (no pic here, unfortunately). Then some sorta shaved ice thingy just across the street at the freaky 100¥ shop that sells lots of Japanese products. Later we joined Tecky Fish and YW for badminton (disastrous. i have terrible reflexes) and, after that, juice drinking at Ming Tien. XD And... then we moved to Kanna section 17 for divine fried squid + onions. Holy.
Oh yeah. Sotong! I like. With loads of onions. Divine! Crazy ass divine. Give it a try. It's ever so fragrant. Onions so crisp. Ooh-lala. XD
Sunday morning. Duck rice at Sunrise @ Sea Park.
Not too bad. Not the best duck though. The meat was slightly tough especially at the drumstick portions. Best duck i've had was from KL. Dad brought it back and it was freakishly divine. Damn. It was from Pudu, if am not mistaken. Apparently the store owner is this eccentric uncle who always adds an extra zero when counting cash. If it costs 50 bucks, he'll say 500. You pay using a hundred ringgit note, then "ah. you pay me 1000".
After that duck rice, we buggered off to 1U for Wall E. KTZ in 1u for peanut broth thingy. Then Chilis for hardcore refilling of tostada chips and beef queso (divine. No pictures though)! Then at night Nasi Lemak Ayam at Sea Park (next to Maybank) for fried chicken.
Monday. Old town cafe for si mut milk tea + kaya butter toast. Nothing exciting here.
Tuesday Swensen's earthquake + Station1.
My steak. Didn't take it properly as i was in a hurry to gobble it down.
Wednesday. KTZ again but at the Kepong branch. Apparently the Kepong branch is the first ever KTZ outlet (if you can call it an outlet).
Situated at some roadside squatter-house like stalls. Not remotely impressive.
Looks like a hawker stall if you ask me.
There was even a tree sticking through the roof. However, the place was busy, with lots of patrons who obviously didn't care about its shabby appearance. :D All dessert tong suis had sold out when we arrived so we settled for the usual loh.
My mango loh. Ha. Oozy.
If you happen to visit KTZ, order their radish cake. It is definitely one of the better radish cakes that i've sampled. Dried shrimps, mushroom bits and slices of radish can be found inside. V. good.
Thursday, Today. Tong sui again at Section 17. Situated at this pasar malam-esque place. Open everyday i think.
Among them were: bubur cha cha, red bean soup, green bean soup, some oaty gandum thingy, glutinous red bean (is that what you call it?), boiled apple with lemon, boiled pear, boiled watermelon, boiled pear, boiled honeydew, boiled... papaya, barley with ginkgo and fuzhuk (what d'you call this in english?).
Their bubur cha cha is quite up to standard (and was nearly finished when i arrived). So is their oat thingy and the glutinous red bean. I would recommend those. I generally stay away from red and green bean as they're pretty damn boring. Barley ginkgo fuzhuk was good as well.
If you're looking for something less cloying, try the various boiled fruit soups. Refreshing. They taste mostly the same, yet slightly different according to the fruits. I tried the honeydew one and it obviously had the fragrance of honeydew. The apple lemon one is not too bad either. Only thing i have to complain is the presence of white fungus in all of the above fruit desserts. I don't like white fungi!
Thus concludes my 6 days of insane eating spree and if i keep it up at this rate i'm gonna end up becoming so fat that i won't be able to move like the fatties in Wall E. Gotta run now.

Frugal
Just came back from Swensen's and Station 1.
Tuesday. Swensen's Earthquake at half price. But i guess i paid dearly for that fucked up 50% discount. Swensen's Subang Parade was packed to the brim and we waited for nearly an hour before our 8 scoops of ice-cream arrived spouting dry-ice mist (attractive, though).
While we paid up, the manager was apologetic but rather helpless as he was short-handed. And this bitchy uncle came over to fucking complain, "this is ridiculous. we've waited for 45 mins!" The manager apologized profusely while surreptitiously motioning his staff to be faster. "Cepat sikit, nanti kena tembak lagi," he added when he uncle stormed off.
Complain so much. I felt like sounding the uncle. We've waited for nearly 1 hour, u wait for 45 mins only go sit ur ass down la. Noisy bugger. I admire the manager's patience. If i were the manager i would have told the uncle to fuck off. "Cannot wait izzit? There's the door!"
After Swensens we popped over to Station 1 (at SS15) for dinner and it was pretty busy as well. Managed to diminish (but not extinguish) my craving for steak by ordering the rib-eye steak. Station 1's steak was pretty good. Large piece of tender rib-eye, flaming black pepper sauce, large scoop of mash & gravy, not freakishly expensive. What more could i ask for? ;)

Am craving for steak la, people. Does anyone know of a great place for steak? Apart from Fridays / Chilis / San Francisco Steakhouse / Vic Station / The Ship? Steak! Perhaps it's time to pay a visit to Coliseum.

Am craving for a freakin' blondie! Who wants to go to Swensen's with me?
Wall E
Graphics and animation was fantastic, as usual. I liked how they designed the rubbish-square buildings. Absolutely creative. Wall E's magpie headquarters was fascinating as well. I wish i had that rotating storage thingy in which he stores his hoarded treasures. Let's see. Outer space was awesome, and am not surprised as outer space provides the most potential to be creative. All the planets and stuff.
On the topic of romance... Robot love! Would you classify this as a romantic comedy? Ha! I generally stay miles away from romedies but hell, Wall E was terrific and it will be one of those movies that i will watch again and again.
Oh. And Eve is just incredibly sleek and sexy wtf! I want her as my robot. :D

Jersey
The day before, on his birthday, some of us walked allllll over 1U looking for something suitable and eventually found this decent Adidas basketball jersey XL (largest) size. It was, however, "slim fit" and he ended up looking like some tight-shirted-broad-chested gangster. So nope. There was also this sexy lime green fish-net jersey in Nike which ... ha!
The next day we went to
i) Mid Valley (Mid Garden! i'll elaborate later) and walked all around only to find this satisfactory Jordan series jersey M size which was surprisingly as large as the Adidas XL one but still tight.
ii) M being the only size they had, we went to Pyramid to scout for other sizes and they only had L (still slightly tight) and XXL (like a dress). Asked the Pyramid fellers to run database check for XL and the only one left in the area was in Time freakin Square.
iii) Asked Pyramid fellers to reserve XL in Time Square and flew off to Time Square using LRT & Monorail which was disastrous. I hate public transport. The bloody monorail was so packed when we came back that people had to squeeze in like sardine can.
iv) While on the way, Time Square Nike woman called to say that XL had already been reserved by another customer so i got damn irritated and sounded her and she agreed to sell me the shirt if we arrive earlier than the other bugger.
v) Arrived at Time Square and triumphantly purchased freakin jersey! Time Square Nike woman must have thought that i was one of those hateful and bitchy customers coz she dispatched two of her male colleagues to supposedly "handle" me should i start bitching. XD

Marketingdinghooi refers to The Gardens as Mid Garden. "How many of u go Mid Garden shopping?" Was totally lost when i heard that. And then i realized. And couldn't stop laughing. His lectures are so fun to record!

"How could I insist that he be charged? If there is no evidence, the police are not stupid to charge, just because so-and-so have said ‘charge'. I'm not one to say charge."
I'd feel damn intelligent and proud each time I read statements made by him xD
and how many fucking times he wanna utter the word "charge" in just 3 lines?

Competent!
Am finally and officially a competent driver. :D
Two years. Really fast, in't it? I still remember taking lessons with the rotund Mr Chua who kept calling me 鸟瓜, e.g. "鸟瓜啊你, 换gear没有踩clutch!"
鸟瓜, literally "bird melon" which means dunce/idiot/dumbass in his dictionary. I have no idea how he came to coin this freakish phrase.
Anyway today was one of those super-productive (relative to my usual routine of wake-up-go-class-come-back-play-games-sleep) days.
i) I woke up at 7 something in the morning and managed to score a freakin B ranking on DMC4's mission 18. Goodness DMC4 is just mind-blowing.
ii) After that i went to the photo shop near my house to have my license-sized photo snapped.
iii) And while waiting i had the fantastic KFC Twister. Nostalgic! S'been ages ages ages! They last had it while i was in primary school and mum bought it every time and it was just divine. The new Twister, however, has got honey mustard in it which i hate as it tastes like wasabi (mustard-fried chicken = bad combo), so i requested that they swap it with mayonnaise and it was just divine!
iv) And while i waited somemore for the damn photos to be developed ("mesin baru buka la, sir.") i had my tires pumped. Pretty impulsive, actually. I originally visited the petrol station to grab some drinks, then i saw the air pump!
v) An hour later i drove to the JPJ place to fix my D license but got lost on the way. I got lost in PJ State, got lost in Section 14, got lost in some strange shoplot at the side of the federal highway and i got lost at Asia Jaya. Bah! Didn't know that the JPJ place is so easy to get to.
So now, i have my new license! :D

Cry
Graphics is fantastic.
*Note: All screenshots do not do justice to the graphics, unfortunately. I think a graphic card is needed to see every minute detail. :D
New protagonist named Nero. Hot headed and pretty much a newbie compared to Dante. Nero tries to act cool most of the time but he's got a looooong way to go to achieve Dante's irreplaceable suave and coolness!
Nero's a human apparently, but his right hand carries some sort of demonic power.
Which enables him to fling this humongous sword with some effort (coz he's a noob! ha).
Nero's Devil Arms
Blue Rose! Nero's gun that shoots two bullets at one go. Pretty useful as it can be charged twice to release this colossal explosion!
Red Queen. Nero's blade. Its handle can be revved (vroom vroom) like a motorcycle handle to release flames on subsequent attacks. Very very difficult to use! Am still practising. Argh.
Dante, the other protagonist. Devil hunter. Super skilled. He was one of the bosses in the game and trust me, you don't wanna be fighting him. Hmph.
Dante's Devil Arms
Unlike Nero's (who relies mostly on his demonic right hand) limited weapons, Dante sports a whole arsenal of devil arms.
Ebony & Ivory. Dante's pair of handguns. Looks much cooler than Nero's Blue Rose but has less power when charged. They can, however, be rather impressive when used with Gunslinger style.
Coyote-A. Dante comes pre-equipped with this super shotgun. At close range, it packs quite a punch. Perfect to ground airborne enemies.
Gilgamesh. Acquired after defeating Echidna. Very powerful, which compensates for its short range.
Cool-ourful. Ain't it? :D
Wearing Gilgamesh, Dante is able perform a flurry of kick ass karate skills. He even has this flashy Chun Li style kick. Fascinating.
Pandora ('s box). Apparently it can assume 666 different calamitous forms. Pandora has a variety of depressive names (Hatred, Jealousy, Vengeance, Epidemic etc).
Not all 666 forms are shown the in the game though. The one above is Jealousy and it assumes the form of a machine gun.
Hatred is a rocket launcher.
Grief becomes a bladed boomerang.
Perhaps the most impressive form of Pandora is Argument. Pandora breaks open and transforms into this huge rocket launcher and fires missiles all over. Talk about opening up Pandora's box and wreaking havoc.
Lucifer. Next up is Lucifer, which is this demonic contraption that allows Dante to toss and manipulate red blades.
Stylish. :D
Very, very stylish. Heart shaped explosion! Notice the rose secured in his mouth. Tossing the rose causes all the blades to zero in on a target and explode.
Rebellion returned from DMC3. Dante's default weapon and is pretty versatile, especially in Swordmaster Style.
Like Rebellion, Yamato made another appearance and can be wielded by Nero and Dante, but they both pale in comparison with its original owner, Vergil. Vergil's skill with Yamato in DMC3 is unprecedented!
***
Graphics also allows me to ogle at the incredibly incredibly HOT Trish. Holy... Hot!
