Halloween

Was halloween yesterday. We were supposed to dress up in costumes but i had none. Initially i wanted to put on something multi-coloured in manner of rainbow boy (coz i had a rainbow-coloured pair of fans, and also a psychedelic slinky), but i couldn't find any colourful piece of clothing to match those accessories.. So in the end i brought a roll of black sugar paper to make a witch's hat.

Anyway, my witch's hat turned out to look more like a dunce cap.

Me (Dunce) with Kikilala the Fairy

Faris was dressed up like a complete military dude (he claims to be a terrorist..). Kikilala was a fairy, wearing some freaky wingy thingys. Kourosh came with a gorilla mask, and Lung² wore some grotesque rubber mask which was totally stinky.

During IB class, Colin suggested me to fold the dunce cap up a bit. Which i did, and in the process creased it up and bent it to the back to create a perfect wizard's hat! Voila!

Me (Wizard), Kikilala the Fairy, and Colin the Red Devil (notice he's wearing some fairy antennae but his horny red hair is like the devil)

Ms Woi was dressed up as a kinky nurse, with a small pink dress and white knee-length boots! And she came equipped with her little torture kit containing fake blood, which she drew on our hands. I poured a line of it across my wrist to appear suicidal. Man, i tell you. The fake blood looked real. LoL. Will ask her where did she get em.

She also made a fake Jack O' Lantern using newspapers, and gave us all treats.
=D Fun! I got some sorta Maltesers stuff. Nips or something.

Our class picture. I am behind trying to hex Shahin into a frog.

Another variation, with me attempting to jinx Kavitha into a raccoon =D

Ahh!

For the first time. I drove to Sunway College today. Unaccompanied. Wheee!

Would have been a better experience, but i was half-dead due to lack of sleep (1 hour sleep between 5.30 to 6.30).

Holidays

Sighs. Sighs. My holidays are coming to an end.

I spent the last 10 days in the most unproductive manner. I sat at home. I ate (subsisted mostly on milk, bread, peanut butter). I played games (and got KO-ed / GameOver-ed / my Head Pawned countless times), I slept. And i played more games.

I made some abortive plans with Nico to catch some movies.

I made some abortive plans with Siao Ming and Mojojoseph to so sth with the torturous IDC ISU.

and now there's something wrong with my body clock. For the past few days i've been sleeping at 4am, and waking up 11 hours later.

************************************
Things i have done "right" during the hols:

  • Managed to train my FF12 characters to level 23 (on average).
  • Convinced mum that, however beautiful they are, her lillies are actually smelly, not fragrant.
  • Went to gym 5 times (not merely to blow aircond and listen to headache-inducing trance music).
  • Managed to sleep a lot (to regenerate my body for the oncoming weeks of ISU onslaught).
  • Managed to celebrate mum's birthday.
  • Convinced dad that he has to buy flowers for mum eventhough she has her smelly lillies.
  • Managed to try Canadian 2-for-1 Pizza, which is not bad. Satisfactory.
  • Completed DHL Case Study for Yvonne Woi and submitted on time via Sunway Blackboard.
Oh that reminds me. Will be going to DHL for a study trip! Fun. The initial destination of San Francisco Coffee would have been much better, but who am i to complain eh?

************************************************
Dad is completely against my choice of painting my new room black. -_-"
He's totally superstitious.. Hmm.. Best not to worry. Have 2 months++ break after CIMP to design my ideal room.

Now i have to focus on CIMP! and CIMP! S'good that WI has no ISU. Saves me some time. Phew

Aaaaargh!!

Final Fantasy 12 is driving me nuts! Throughout the game, i got Game Over-ed no less than 10 times! It requires so much training.. Vomit blood. Worst part is that they do not tell you that you need to train. One area you will find a bunch relatively weak monsters that you can kill will a few strikes. Then just one zone away, you get your ass kicked like no tomorrow, and Game Over! Baaa!!

Normally i get killed by bosses. But yesterday my entire party got wiped out by some normal creatures in the Stilshrine of Miriam. I was horrified and went to check for guides @ gamefaqs.com. Turned out i should have at least a base level of 30-35. But most of my characters are at 22-25. Holy crap ass!

****************************************************

Anyway, we went to celebrate mum's birthday at a seafood restaurant called Coconut Flower. Situated in some god-forsaken place i did not know how to go to, it sells a wide variety of tasty and delicious seafood. Truth be told, i really do not fancy seafood all that much. I don't have that zeal. Initially mum suggested that we go for hi-tea or something, so i got really excited and anticipated a visit to a beautiful and classy hotel. Unfortunately for me, mum went all emo and crazy and changed her mind in the last minute. Sighs.

Ah well. Coconut Flower wasn't all that bad lah... The place is quite atmospheric, with exuberant trees planted in the vicinity. Their salted chicken was divine. As was their Teochew Style steamed pomfret. And there was this absolutely fantastic salted egg prawn, which i did not consume (allergic to prawns. they make my lips swell like angelina jolie)...
T_T I Love Prawns!!! Oh god. Why punish me so? Sighs..

I love operas and arias...

Hmmm... at last I am not so busy these days anymore, but I expect myself to be busy with my works soon. Anyway, while I am enjoying my life away now, I have started to learn some operatic tunes and I have therefore learn to sing some European operas. Among them are:

LA DONNA È MOBILE, the Duke's aria from Rigoletto (Italiano) (TENOR)

La donna è mobile, qual piùma al vento,
The woman is fickle (movable), like a feather in the wind,
muta d'accento, e di pensiero.
she changes the tone of her voice (i.e., her accents), and her thoughts
Sempre un amabile, leggiadro viso,
Always a sweet, pretty face,
in pianto o in riso, è menzognero.
in tears or in laughter, (she) is (always) lying
La donna è mobile, qual piùma al vento,
The woman is fickle, like a feather in the wind,
muta d'accento, e di pensier
she changes her accents, and her thoughts
e di pensier, e di pensier
and her thoughts, and her thoughts

È sempre misero, chi a lei s'affida,
It is always miserable, he that trusts in her (He is always miserable who trusts in her)
chi le confida, mal cauto il core!
who to her confides, his unwary heart!
Pur mai non sentesi felice appieno
Yet nobody feels happy fully
chi su quel seno non liba amore!
who on that bosom doesn't drink love,
La donna è mobil, qual piùma al vento,
The woman is fickle, like a feather in the wind,
muta d'accento e di pensier,
she changes the tone of her voice and her thoughts
e di pensier, e di pensier!
and her thoughts, and her thoughts!

VOTRE TOAST, JE PEUX VOUS LE RENDRE, Escamillo's aria from Carmen (Français) (ARIA)

Votre toast, je peux vous le rendre,
Your toast, I can give it to you
Señors, señors, car avec les soldats
Sirs, sirs, for along with the soldiers
oui, les toreros peuvent s'entendre;
Yes, the Toreros, can understand;
Pour plaisirs, pour plaisirs,
For pleasures, for pleasures
Ils ont les combats!
They have combats!
Le cirque est plein,
The arena is full,
c'est jour de fête!
it is the feast day!
Le cirque est plein du haut en bas;
The arena is full, from top to bottom;
Les spectateurs, perdant la tête,
The spectators, losing their heads,
Les spectateurs s'interpellent à grand fracas!
The spectators began a big fracas!
Apostrophes, cris et tapage
Apostrophes, cries, and uproar
Poussés jusques à la fureur!
Grow to a furor!
Car c'est la fête du courage!
Because it is a celebration of courage!
C'est la fête des gens de coeur
It is the celebration of people with heart!
Allons! en garde! Allons! Allons! ah!
Let’s go, on guard! Let’s go! Let’s go! Ah!
Toréador, en garde! Toréadorr, Toréador!
Toréador, on guard! Toréador, Toréador!
Et songe bien, oui, songe en combattant
And dream away, yes, dream in combat,
Qu'un oeil noir te regarde,
That a black eye is watching you,
Et que l'amour t'attend,
And that love awaits you,
Toréador, L'amour t'attend!
Toréador, love awaits you!
Et songe bien, oui, songe en combattant
And dream away, yes dream in combat,
Qu'un oeil noir te regarde,
That a black eye is watching you
Et que l'amour t'attend,
And may love await you,
Toréador, L'amour t'attend!
Toréador, love await you!

Tout d'un coup, on fait silence...
All of a sudden, it is silent
Ah! que se passe-t-il?
Ah, what is happening?
Plus de cris, c'est l'instant!
More cries! It is the moment!
Plus de cris, c'est l'instant!
More cries! It is the moment!
Le taureau s'élance
The bull throws himself out
En bondissant hors du Toril!
Bounding out of the Toril!
Il s'élance! Il entre,
He throws himself out! He enters.
Il frappe! un cheval roule,
He strikes! A horse rolls,
Entrainant un Picador,
Dragging a picador,
Ah! bravo! Toro! Hurle la foule!
Ah, Bravo! Bull! The crowd roars!
Le taureau va, il vient,
The bull goes, he comes,
Il vient et frappe encor!
He comes and strikes again!
En secouant ses banderilles,
Shaking his banderillos,
Plein de fureur, il court!
Full of fury, he runs!
Le cirque est plein de sang!
The arena is full of blood!
On se sauve, on franchit les grilles!
They save themselves, they pass the gates
C'est ton tour maintenant! allons!
It is your turn now. Let’s go!
En garde! allons! allons! Ah!
On guard! Let’s go! Let’s go! Ah!
Toréador, en garde! Toréador, Toréador!
Toréador, on guard! Toréador, Toréador!
Et songe bien, oui, songe en combattant
And dream away, yes, dream in combat,
Qu'un oeil noir te regarde,
That a black eye is watching you,
Et que l'amour t'attend,
And that love awaits you,
Toréador, L'amour t'attend!
Toréador, Love awaits you!
Et songe bien, oui, songe en combattant
And dream away, yes, dream in combat,
Qu'un oeil noir te regarde
That a black eye is looking at you
Et que l'amour t'attend,
And that love awaits you
Toréador, L'amour t'attend!
Toréador, love awaits you!
Et songe bien, oui, songe en combattant
And dream away, yes, dream in combat,
Qu'un oeil noir te regarde
That a black eye is looking at you
Et que l'amour t'attend,
And that love awaits you
Et que l'amour t'attend,
And that love awaits you.
Toréador, L'amour t'attend!
Toréador, love awaits you!
L'amour! L'amour! L'amour!
Love! Love! Love!
Toréador, Toréador, L'amour t'attend!
Toréador, Toréador, love awaits you!

DER VOGELFÄNGER BIN ICH JA -- Papageno's aria from Die Zauberflöte (Deutsch) (TENOR)

Der Vogelfänger bin ich ja,
The birdcatcher I am indeed,
Stets lustig heissa hopsasa!
Always happy, heidi heh hey!
Ich Vogelfänger bin bekannt
I, the birdcatcher, am well known
Bei Alt und Jung im ganzen Land.
To old and young throughout the land.
Weiß mit dem Lokken umzugehn
Know how to get around the bird decoys
Und mich aufs Pfeiffen zu verstehen!
And be understood on the fife.
Drum kann ich froh und lustig sein,
Therefore I can be happy and funny,
Denn alle Vögel sind ja mein.
For all the birds are indeed mine.

Der Vogelfänger bin ich ja,
The birdcatcher I am indeed,
Stets lustig heissa hopsasa!
Always happy, heidi heh hey!
Ich Vogenfänger bin bekannt
I, the birdcatcher, am well-known
Bei Alt und Jung im ganzen Land.
To old and young throughout the land.
Ein Netz für Mädchen möchte ich;
A net for girls is what I would like;
Ich fing sie dutzendweis für mich!
I'd catch them by the dozen for me!
Dann sperrte ich sie bei mir ein
Then I would lock them up with me
Und alle Mädchen wären mein.
And all the girls would be mine.

Wenn alle Mädchen wären mein,
If all the girls were mine,
So tauschte ich brav Zukker ein.
Then I'd dutifully trade for some sugar.
Die welche mir am liebsten wär,
The one I liked the best,
der gäb ich gleich den Zukker her.
To her I would immediately give the sugar.
Und küsste sie mich zärtlich dann,
And if she kissed me tenderly then,
Wär' sie mein Weib und ich ihr Mann.
She would be my wife and I her husband.
Sie schlief an meiner Seite ein;
She would fall asleep by my side;
ich wiegte wie ein Kind sie ein.
I would rock her to sleep like a child.

These are among the few operas and arias that I love. Actually I love to sing these operas, and my dream is to be like Luciano Pavarotti or Placido Domingo or Jose Carerras. They are the 3 great tenors, actually. Oh how I fall in love with these operatic tunes and the singing!

Well, this blog is getting too long now. So, I hope you do enjoy these operas as well. Take care!

My diary is the chronicle of my life...

Well, again, I am busy with some circuit design with layout design. This is the life of an IC design engineer. My blog is always getting too long no matter how hard I am trying to condense its contents. Hmmm... today, I just want to make my blog a little different from my two previous blogs. I am going to include here a few favorite unforgettable oldie songs about me going somewhere soon, to Penang on the northern side of Malaysia, which is 200 miles (330km) away from Kuala Lumpur, my childhood hometown... Here they are...

200 Miles (David's edition)

If you miss the train I'm on, you will know that I am gone;
You will hear the whistle blow two hundred miles.
Two hundred miles, two hundred miles, two hundred miles, two hundred miles;
You will hear the whistle blow two hundred miles.

Lord, I'm two; Lord, I'm two; Lord, I'm two; Lord, I'm two;
Lord, I'm two hundred miles away from home.
Away from home, away from home, away from home, away from home;
Lord, I'm two hundred miles away from home.

Not a shirt on my back, not a penny to my name;
Lord, I can't go back home this-a-way.
This-a-way, this-a-way, this-a-way, this-a-way;
Lord, I can't go back home this-a-way.

Lord, I'm two; Lord, I'm two; Lord, I'm two; Lord, I'm two;
Lord, I'm two hundred miles away from home.
Away from home, away from home, away from home, away from home;
Lord, I'm two hundred miles away from home.

And below here is another oldie song about me being there (just read my previous blog which carries the title of "LIFE AS JUST SIMPLY BEING ME" and you will know why)...

I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry (David's edition)

Hear that lonesome whippoorwill,
He sounds too blue to fly.
The train I'm on is whining low,
I'm so lonesome I could cry.
I've never seen a night so long
When time goes crawling by.
The moon just went behind a cloud
To hide its face and cry.

Did you ever see a weeping soul,
When leaves began to die?
That means he's missing his loved ones,
I'm so lonesome I could cry.

The silence of a falling star
Lights up a pitch black sky.
And as I wonder where you are
I'm so lonesome I could cry.

The last song below here tells of what it will be like to be lonely there... just my feelings there...

REFLECTION OF MY LIFE (David's edition)

The changin' of sunlight to moon light
Reflection of my life
Oh, how they fill my eyes
The greetings of people in sorrow
Reflection of my life
Oh, how they fill my eyes

All my sorrows, sad tomorrow
Take me back to my own home
All my crying (all my cryin')
Feel I'm dyin' lonely
Take me back to my own home

I'm changin' arrangin'
I'm changin'
I'm changin' everything
Ah, everything around me
My world's a lonely place
A lonely place
A lonely place to live
But I don't want to be lonely...

All my sorrows, sad tomorrow
Take me back to my own home
All my crying (all my cryin')
Feel I'm dyin' dyin'
Take me back to my own home

All right, here's the end of my song-laden blog. Seriously speaking, I am not really that type of melancholic person, although at times I am a little moody, especially in the morning. I am always cheerful whenever someone is there to accompany me and be my loyal friend. And just one more thing, I WILL give you a nice warm heart-touching SMILE whoever you are, wherever you are, whenever you are. Just call me up and the SMILE is yours :-) Bye and have a nice day!

Life as just simply being me...

Really, it's been almost more than 2 weeks since I have not been writing my blog here because I was really busy designing a circuit and its layout on an IC chip. Anyway, I don't want to create a long blog like I did before, but just a short one will do. So many things have happened these past 2 weeks, and things really happen so quickly.

Actually, I will be moving over to the north of Malaysia (Penang) to work with a Japanese company in a Free Trade Industrial Zone. Pay-wise, it is good, since I have some good experience in an American company I worked before, though only some 7 months there. Anyway, this end of June, I will be moving over there, and life would have been totally different there because I will then be living some 320km (200 miles) away from my family in Kuala Lumpur (KL), the city where I was raised. I will miss a lot of my KL friends there, especially those I have just recently met. And, the sad thing is, I have very little friends there in Penang, so I will be alone. That's why I say my life there will be different. I probably will be very workaholic to forget all these sad loneliness. All I will face then is the computer screen, all the time. Sad me... I have no partner to share my life with, no one to share my happiness and sadness together and no one to lend me a shoulder to cry on, if I ever cry.

Just yesterday 22nd April, I have an interview with the HR department of the company I will be working with, so excitement come along the way, together with the impending sadness of leaving my family in KL and the impending sadness of having very little friends in Penang. I have a few, but not many, and I need friends to hang out with, to share my experiences with and to talk with. Anyway, I am happy because I will be meeting new friends there in the company.

The past two weeks, I was busy with my design of the latched sample-and-hold flash ADC circuit and the layout, so a lot of my time were spent on the simulations of the circuit. Actually, during these period of time, I have some not-so-good experiences with some rude people I chat on MSN. To tell you briefly, I send this person some pics of mine, and the comments given to me were horrible "YOU ARE FAT!!!" That's exactly what was being told to me. Anyway, whatever the person was trying to tell me, it not only made me feel greater about myself, but also gave me an inspiration to go workout in a KL gym (near KLCC Petronas Twin Towers) that I have fallen in love (actually love at first sight). I actually wanted to join the gym membership, but due to the membership package they offer (3 month or a year membership), I can't join the gym in KL, because I will have to move on to Penang this end of June. So, I am a little devastated that I could not work out in the gym. For your information, the gym not only has the usual equipments, but also has aerobic classes such as hip-hop dancing, lin dancing, Salsa dancing, yoga, pilate and so on. Cool but a luxurious gym, I should honestly say! Anyway, I hope to be able to join a dancing class in Penang and be like (hahaha!!!) Jennifer Lopez and Richard Gere in the "Shall we dance" movie.

Anyway, some of the past bitter experiences I have with some people I have now forgotten, although I find myself to be a little resilient in that I still wanted to be friends with W I have told you before. But I find this person is also resilient, not wanting to accept my offer of friendship. What a wasted opportunity of a friendship offer. If I quote it here, it would sound very much contradictory to what he has written in one of his home page profile, which reads like this:
"... so i always emphasize that, never ever give up any opportunity that can make up with 2 persons...i always appreciate on the faith in between...because when u never try, never appreciate, u may lose something in your whole life... ".
And another message he wrote in ICQ:
"Friends is a very important issue in my life. They are my life partner,we grow together, and happy each other. Anyone who is interested to make friend with me, hope u can drop message to me, ....."
If you compare to his type of personality I describe you in my previous blog and what he has written in the quotes above, you will see clearly that this person does not do what he really meant in his message. Probably one who knows who to say things but never know how to appreciate what he has written there. Worst, he does not even understand the meaning of his OWN message. Simply writing for the sake of writing it. Anyway, I don't quite understand the complex personality of this person. A friendship is really hard to build with this type of person.

Anyway, I guess this blog is going to get longer if I continue writing it. Guess I will have to end it here. Really, a lot of things have happened these past weeks, which I had wished I can relate all of them to you, but alas, time does not allow me to do so. So, "bye-bye" is all I can say of now...
