Been out of commission for quite a while. Let's just say i spent the last weekend alternating between one or a combination of the following emotions: panic, frustration. explosive outrage, depression.
Panic coz my Internet was down and i couldn't research for my assignment. Depression coz life without Internet connection is pure torture. Frustration coz i kept spam dialing AmEx and Telekom call centres but they were useless. Explosive outrage over the AmEx and Telekom's uselessness. And i can assure u that a large percentage of it was explosive outrage!
My phone lines chose a terrible time to be fucked up. Friday. Just when my assignment is about to be due on Tuesday, it gets disconnected. No phone lines = No Internet connection = No library database = No journals and academic sources for assignment = Doom! Fuck!
Friday, u know! Sonnuvabitch. Apparently the phone bills are auto-paid using Dad's AmEx, but i think the phone bills were surprisingly high for this month and the last (2000+ in total... Mum, calling her Mum in Taiwan to flap their gums. 2000 bucks ok. Fuck. Imagine the things you can buy with that. A PS3 + a game or two / random apparel etc etc. She spent it on what? Wasting spit. Damn!) so there were some anomalies with the credit card centre and i have no idea what so my phone lines got suspended.
Friday. Them sons-of-bitches in these phone/credit card companies are never efficient during weekends. Best bet of any progress will be on Monday. "We need 24 working hours to reactivate your phone lines, so if the credit card centre clears this up on Monday, you'll be able to reconnect on Tuesday evening or Wednesday morning" at which point I wished that I could somehow reach my hands into the phone receiver and come out at the other end to strangle her while screaming "Fat lot of good your Tuesday evening reconnection can do!" Geram!
Managed to procure some random journal articles when I went over to Brown Bear's house to leech his wireless Internet connection. I also managed to wrangle a new high score for Facebook's word challenge.
