Haha!

Just a little bit of madness.

Orange + Mango = Mangorange? or Orango?

Lime + Lemon = Limon? or Leme?

Strawberry + Raspberry = Straspberry (stressberry more like)? or Rawberry...?

Nyahaha!
Been drinking too much

First week of class was pretty ok, apart from the freakin presentation i have to do next week. Benjamin McKay of film studies is a brilliant lecturer, so is Dr Yeoh who asked us to play a ridiculously tedious ice-breaking game during which we had to memorize everyone's names, favourite actors and underwear colours.

Ghazala, the con behaviour lecturer is quite ok but i couldn't pay much attention on Monday as i was dead tired for the 4pm class. And Muthi... Aih.. am stuck with him again. I hope i don't hover between fail and pass again.

OMG

Holy fucking hell it's 12.50a.m. and i just woke up. After my disastrous 9-6 schedule, i got stuck in the jam for an hour + and came home so exhausted that i wolfed down some food and fell dead until now.

I remember brown bear calling about his Microsoft Office CD, and mum ringing from Taiwan to say that she has landed safely, but i just randomly slurred some words and fell right asleep again. V.v.v. bad. I guess i have to start bringing mum's livita stash to class on Mondays.

Holy...

And once again i find myself back in university. S'pretty damn depressing.

Am now stuck with a 2 hour break before my 4pm (ends at 6pm, right during traffic congestion hours! sonnuvabitch) Consumer Behaviour class starts.

***
Film Studies is way cool. We get to watch a different movie each week so a 3 hour lecture is much much more endurable this way. We were shown this somewhat ridiculous comedy called Napoleon Dynamite and it was hilarious.

More movies to be seen soon including Fight Club (which i already have in my com), Sin City (i have the DVD) and the shocking City of God (which i have seen a long time ago). Many of these films have an R rating which all mostly feature what my lecturer put it as a "healthy blending of sex and violence".

Students who are shy or timid and are unable to stomach such scenes can choose not to attend R rated screenings but i think "healthy" blendings of sex and violence are going to attract more students. Hehe.

***
Media studies was pretty okay. The lecturer Dr Yeoh is either overly open-minded or a horndog. Maybe both. He keeps mentioning stuff like "porno", and "playboy/cosmopolitan". -_-" Didn't quite enjoy the lecture due to this two fugly bitches who were relentlessly chattering like machine guns. Will kenakan them if they happen to sit near me again.

Dr Yeoh is pretty lenient when it comes to switching classes so i'll be posting up my new improved timetable.

***
I see a new stall in the cafeteria selling typical western stuff, fish n' chips, chicken chops and so on. Looks pretty decent to me i guess. S'good that they are bringing in better stalls. My favourite one so far is owned by an elderly couple (the Bread Story uncle) selling baked stuff as their sandwiches are delicious and anything Bread Story is definitely of quality.

Tomyam ramen

T♥bowl cheese baked rice

Review:

Ambience: First of its kind in Penang with everything revolves around the main concept - toilet. From toilet bowls, basins, shower sets, bath curtains and etc. The floor space is kinda limited in the small shop with only tables for 2 or 4 persons mostly.

Food: Crappy. The taste of the food is pretty ordinary because I believe anyone can simply whipped up dishes like that easily. Portions are equivalent to kiddies' meal sets. Food presentation is bad - looks more like leftovers to me.

Service: Extremely bad and slow, 'nuff said. I get better dining experience and service served by more intelligent personnels at the nearby hawkers.

Price: Pricey for the quality of the food.

Verdict: Don't Go!

Random #2

Bored. So, pictures.

Small little potluck gathering at Ee May's last Sunday. Was supposed to be one of those rubbish primary school gatherings, but only a handful of people turned up (which makes it a failed gathering).

Ee May's delicious pasta, which was served as if we were in some posh restaurant, big white plate and small (yes small) clumped portion in the center. I guess she learnt these stuff from her hospitality course.

This is adorable. Watermelon and honeydew balls. S'been ages since i ate watermelons this way. Both melons provided by Hookie, the desperate gathering organizer.

Shen and i brought jellies and puddings, and i didn't get to snap any photos.

John came with a humongous container of herby egg sandwiches (for herby-vores) and they, in the pics i took, look like white bread... 0_0 So no point posting.

We also had the inescapable fried mee hoon, courtesy of Lainie.

***
This is mum's stash of Livita in the fridge. 0_0! I never really liked Livita. The taste is just overwhelming, poisonously sweet and eye-squintingly sour.

***
Does anyone know what flower this is? Mum's friend gave her this plant and it started blossoming like crazy. It's perched right outside the gate, and i snapped a picture of it.

***
Met up with Wingie, Danny and Joseph on Friday at 1 Utama. And being the football-crazies they were, they ended up at the UEFA cup roadshow *edit: it's... Euro 2008 Roadshow, but do i look like i care?* somewhere near Oval. -_-" Danny immediately adhered himself to the foosball table, which was no surprise as he sacrifices lectures and tutorials to play foosball.

Most fun part was when Joseph signed up to play this football in a cage thingy.. Have got the video. Lemme post it up when i have the time. :D

Insane

Insanely hardcore timetable

Monday: (blue because of Monday morning blues T_T)

Contemporary Film Studies (L) 9a.m.-12p.m.
Media Studies (L) 12-2p.m.
Consumer Behaviour (L) 4-6p.m.

Tuesday:

Macroeconomic Policy (L) 4-6p.m.

Wednesday:

Con film studies (T) 11a.m. - 1p.m.
Con beh (T) 2-3p.m.
Media studies (T) 3-5p.m.

And that's it. 3 hardcore days. I have (Thurs + Fri + Satur + Sun)days off.

Such a slap in the face, you know, timetables already set and all. My near 4 month break is officially coming to an end.

Am gonna try and shift some of my Wednesday tutes to tuesday or something. Four tutes in a day is gonna be the death of me.

Saturday, February 16, 2008

Whoa

So Man U thrashed Arsenal with a fascinating 4-0 in the FA Cup, which is the third ever football match i have ever seen since the world cup and is certainly the highest-scoring match i have tuned in on. NSC and Mojo are gonna be freakin' pissed and Wingie and Brown Bear are sure to be euphoric.

I don't get football. I don't get the 22 people chasing 1 freakin ball and I don't get the support system. Urgh, people screaming for their favourite team and all that, it just seems pointless to me. IMO (and i think i'm gonna get whacked for this), the best team to support is the one that wins the cups /when the season ends. Nyahaha!

This is what i call football-practical. Saves lots of time, energy, brain-cells, money (if you gamble), throat health (if you yell) and prevents lots of unnecessary testosterone-infused conflicts between die-hard fans.

Now, while we're still on the topic of football, and trust me it is one that i seldom bring up, let me post this:

Tottenham! Another football club. I know nothing about this club, but i do know that they have an interesting logo. A cute blue-bird. Doesn't it remind you of...

Nando's? Another logo with a bird standing real straight. Mwahaha! Am suddenly craving for Peri-Peri Chicken.

***
Urgh i never knew how hateful it is to wash shoes. Went basketballing today, and halfway through the game it rained. Heavily, like having buckets of water up-ended upon you. And them crazy fellers wanted to finish the game so i got totally soaked down to my shoes. Came home to find just how filthy my shoes were, not having washed them since the day of purchase.

Shouldn't have bought a pair of white shoes as they get dirty real fast. And i can't just "wear until they tear, throw away and buy another pair" like what i did during high school coz buying another pair of Nike is gonna burn a huge hole outta my wallet.

Since i can't trust my maid with shoes as the last pair she washed lasted 1 day before its sole came falling off, so i found myself scrubbing my shoes a few minutes ago. Now they're... somewhat whiter than before. :D Have got to find those stain-removers to get rid of a few tricky spots that refused to disappear however vigorous i scrubbed.

***
Have got to sleep. Have 2 hours + to snooze before waking up to catch the NBA slam dunk contest + 3 point shootout. Nighty night.

p.s. Peja Stojakovic is an insane 3 point shooter. X( Try searching around on YouTube.

Selamat Valentine's

Special thanks to Angel and Bryan for the adorable Valentine's gift!

Little did I know there's hidden message in the gift...

"Hope you'll get a dick soon..." (as highlighted)

-_-"

Bloody hell. When asked what she thought my age was, one of my mum's customers said: "20 something? 26?"

Surely i don't look that old?!?! Geeez... It's either that woman has got serious sight problems, or that i really look 7 years older than my actual age. And i'm thinking it's the latter, as people always think that am the older sibling. -_-"!!

And those freakin' credit card fellers (who all promptly scarper when i tell them my age) actually approach me to ramble on and on about "plans". They never approach juvenile-looking kiddies. Sighs. Am getting old. The corrosion of youth!

Since a) am majorly bored and b) i live in Tmn Tun and c) Tmn Tun is filled with mamaks, am gonna do a post on all 10 mamaks in Tmn Tun, because not all mamaks are identical. ;) And yes. There are freakin 10 of them, and maybe more in secluded areas i don't frequent.

!!!!

My cordless phone at home is seriously getting on my nerves. I feel like trampling on it. Just picture this:

When you press '0' once, nothing happens. you press it again and nothing happens. you press it again, two '0's come out. Argrrrrr!

Frustrating, especially when you're trying to call people's hand phones which all start with a '0'.

S'about time we got a new handset.

CNY

What do i like about Chinese New Year?

No traffic jam. Look at Ss2, one of the most congested areas in PJ. And it was practically empty today! Oh my god i was so thrilled! Took me 5 mins to reach SS2 as opposed to the usual 15 (20 during peak hours).

This is the mostest most congested road of SS2 where drivers usually experience extreme fist-balling frustration. But today, no cars. Is such a refreshing change. It's like the city is being cleared out to film I Am Legend-esque movies.

And it's not just SS2. The LDP snailway was pretty clear too. I zoomed around as if i owned the freakin' road and it was mighty exhilarating.

God bless those who had to scuttle back to hometowns. Thankfully i didn't have to as my parents work during CNY. I don't really get the reunions. I hate traipsing hundreds of kilometres back to dad's hometown to congregate with not-so-related relatives.

***
Now ang pows. Sigh. My ang pow income is much lower than previous years. Grandpa passed away last year and he was usually the largest contributor. I don't really have loads of relatives. Let me do some counting.

Dad has got this pact with his two bros. "U dun ang pow my chilren, i dun ang pow your children." So that's pretty sucky. Mum has 2 sisters and a bro in Taiwan. Aunt 1 is separated with husband for past 10 years so... ang pow

Aunt 2 was divorced from cruel-raced Japanese husband since i could remember. Divorce = Single = ang pow. Uncle was divorced from cruel-raced gold-digging Japanese wife and is now re-married to gold-digging mainland wife. Hmm. Pretty complicated... Taiwanese ppl love divorce, so it seems.

So a Happy Chinese New from me, fellow readers, and may your ang pow income be much much higher than mine. ;)

E for Enough

Pretty scary yea?!

I think so too... lol XD

Friday, February 1, 2008

Pah!

Doggone! I injured my shoulder blade whilst playing basketball yesterday. I have to stand / sit rigid and upright in manner of military person to reduce the pain. And that sucks, as am always lazing this way or another.

I guess it's not a really good idea to basketball for three days in a row. Mum blames it on the Baskin Robbins ice-cream i ate (Pralines and Cream is pretty good. Pecans rock), saying that it made my body "too cold" and thus more susceptible to injuries. She said this once while she was eating up the remainder of my half-gallon, and again later as she was plucking my veins/tendons/ligaments in a sadistic Thai-masseuse way.

I've already downed a variety of muscle relaxants including Panadol Muscle & Joints, but when i read the info sheet i found out that it contains only paracetamol like any other Panadol, just that the capsules look different. Such packaging scam, if you ask me...

*update
Been to the Dr Lim's earlier just now, and damn it was packed. People falling sick left right centre due to CNY bingeing, i presume. Managed to queue-barge in a way (mum knows him)and i visited Lim who was already off-duty at that time.

Thank goodness there wasn't anything wrong with my spine (the segments in my neck... cervical vertebrae if am not mistaken), as it hurt when i tilted my head upwards. Was just some nerve injury. Or was it muscle? Am sure he said trapezius, which is a muscle, but it extends up to the neck near the spine, so that should explain the pain.

Simple diagram. Much easier to understand this way.

Anyway am given more pills, and a minty ointment-cream to apply on affected areas. XD
