Satay!!

Went for Kajang satay yesterday, since Fish studies at Uniten nearby.

I sucked down 21 sticks of glorious glorious satay, which was
  • Really awesome, like i'd died and gone to satay heaven
  • Horrifying.. Coz.. 21 sticks of satay!! How many calories does one contain?? Got satay sauce somemore.. Sinful.
Damn.. I feel like a lump of fat boneless squishy sausage, quivering on my computer chair. Must go spam jogging tomorrow.

For starters, 50 sticks of perfect, succulent, skinless chicken satay. One word: Irresistable!!!

And yes, skinless. I hate satay with a layer of chicken skin in between. I hate them with uncontrollable fury! Bleargh.

10 beef + 10 lamb satays. Beef was amazing! It was delightfully tender, and was glistening with a coat of honey... Tastes fabulous, even without the satay sauce. Divine. Absolutely divine.

Lamb however was a completely different story la... Kinda tough and chewy and total crap. And expensive also. -_-" RM1.10 per stick. wtf! Beef was only 70 cents.

When Fish arrived he sapu-ed like 20 sticks in 10 mins, and then ordered 1 pathetic stick of fish satay just to try and 5 more after he found them to be delicious (not delicious at all. It was fishy, and mushed up once you took a bite)

Fish's ganasness and blackhole of a stomach prompted us to order another 20 beef and 20 chicken.

This is the one. Restoran Malaysia. If you like skinless satay. ;)

Once upon time ago, someone told me
"bad decision might be the best option"
maybe this is a bad decision
but after all i always believe that

Google Zeitgeist 2009

Above is the result from the polls done by google based on the most common keyword type by the malaysian user. Friendster caught my eyes. Yesterday business news highlight that friendster is now sold to Malaysian tycoon, Tan Sri Vincent Tan. Their main mission is to attract and retain their 90% of Asian user, focus on teenagers or young generation & will overcome every single weakness that are found in facebook. One of the big complaint received by friendster about facebook is that many teenagers dont want to share their social life with their parents. Which is incredibly true! Personally i dont have any facebook account and the main reason is because my dad did have a facebook. I guess many of the teenagers out there faced the same situation. It is not that we dont want to share our social life with our parents but sometimes i think its better to keep our skeletons in the closet! I just have a glance tour of my friendster acc just now after a blue moon and i can see it looks freshly different nowadays! I foresee that friendster as the first social network can become a big phenomena once again after a few years... So friends lets reactive your friendster acc back as first love will never forgotten!

MiAdidas

I've been searching high and low for a nice pair of running shoes for a quite a while now.

My current pair is v. comfortable for casual wear, but makes my feet hurt like hell when i jog (YES! i've been trying!) or even brisk walk.

I suspect the padding's a tad too narrow and its contours don't fit that well with my feet.

So after countless quick glances in sporting outlets, I still couldn't find a satisfactory design. Well., at least one with a decent price. Running shoes cost freaking bombs. Pair of good ones can easily hit 500.

And they're fugly.

Got fed up after a while so my solution? Customize my own shoes!!

Behold, people! My MiAdidas. I call it the WS. :D

I first read about MiAdidas at Kennysia's a while back and back then to customize your own shoe cost an additional 50%. RM500 + 50% = RM750 A 50% larger bomb! The horror.

After some random bumming around online, i discovered that HSBC card holders, and DiGi users (wtf la. what about maxis users, huh!?) got a 50% discount on their MiAdidas customized shoes!

Awesome!

So off i went to Adidas Pavillion. I went twice, with dad. Previously i called to ask about the 50% discount and they said i could pop by whenever. When i arrived 2 weeks later they had such a sudden surge of shoe-customizing-customers that the appointment schedule was packed and we had to come back another day. -_-"

This is pretty much how it works.

Except the computerized measurements. That was bullshit. I suspect they were too busy to computer-measure my feet and what not. They merely asked me try on shoes. I wanted to give them hell for that but my dear father was in a great hurry, AND the pair i tried on was god damn comfy. So.. sigh.. no choice lor.

You get to choose colours for each part of the shoe design, from the soles to the laces to the fabric and so on. Material (summer mesh or winter mesh) can also be chosen. Limited colours though, but good enough to come up with unique designs.

There are also options for the shoe pads, for performance, or stability or endurance or some crap like that. Based on the computer-measurements (which i didn't take), customized feet padding can be made based on the pressure on your feet. Sock-liner can be changed for performance, or for extra cushion to avoid chaffed achilles' heels.

You start off with a sterile sort of while colour. And the rest all depends on your creativity.

I've designed some, just for fun! I have access to the database, afterall. :D

Pink and White. For the ladies. Not bad, right?

Similar one in Green and White.

Colour-on-white-base looks quite spectacular, but white gets dirty quickly and some turn a shade of grotesque yellow over time... Which is why i steer clear of white shoes. Have got horrible experience.

Loud, candy sorta colour combination. Oh yeah.

Zebra shoes. For people who love monochrome.

Common blue-white-black.

Truth be told. The initial design that i had wanted was this.

All black's too boring so i wanted a dash of reddish purple but the colour was too "gay" (excellent accidental pun here!) for my dad. Which is absolutely ridiculous coz he didn't bitch about chili red, which is just a few colour tones away. Old people..

And then. You can do something absolutely hideous like this

"Woahh look at that shoe! So damn ugly until i can't take my eyes of it."

If that's what you want, i guess. Doubt anyone would have such a bad taste to actually do this, but i've seen such garish shoes on sale...

To customize one can choose to embroider any message on the shoe, as well as to include a flag. In the US you can even choose to customize your school logo onto the shoe. Imagine those school basketball teams. In addition to matching jerseys with their names on, they have matching shoes, with their names and school logo. Damn cool wei wtf!

I chose to embroider Polar on my shoe. Nyahaha. Can write whatever message you want on your shoe!

Beep beep. Roadrunner. Quite be-fitting a running shoe.

Sadly... Not whatever you want though. X(

Total damage came up to..? RM264.95 after discount.

The current status now says "manufacturing". There's a waiting time of 3-4 weeks. I ordered it on the 3rd so with luck i should be able to get my feet into them by New Year!

Mini

I've always had cats at home, so yesterday i caught a teeny glimpse of what it is like to be a dog owner. Ladies and gents. Behold.

Mini, the toy poodle!

Quick digression about toy poodles. I first heard about them from Kei, back in my part-timer days at CNX. I was talking about the general uselessness of tiny dogs when she said "Oh, i have a toy poodle" and i thought it was literally a stuffed toy sort of poodle so i ignored her and continued saying stuff like "these dogs, the thief come kick them once they die adi".

Mini belongs to my sis's friend. And she brought him home for 1 night to play with him. Ha! Reminds me of Wing's feather duster mutt.

Was quite fun. Mini was
a) friendly
b) but quiet
c) toilet trained
d) trained to respond to "sit"

Awesome, right anot! Hyper and friendly but quiet is the best combo. He gets excited once he sees people. Sis has this mosquito net on her door and it's all distorted and cacated from his vigorous scratchings. -_-".

Initially he refused to play with his chewy toy turtle coz Sis sucks and dunno how to play with dogs, but with me and Dad around, ho! We unleashed his inner devil. Trick is to pretend to pull the toy away and he'll chew with fury! Ngahahaha!!

c) Toilet trained. As in he only does his doggy business on the wee-wee pad, which was to be deployed in a corner on newspapers. Once nature calls he'll pop over to his corner. Pretty simple.

But not too simple la, cost wise. Can't imagine how much is needed to buy the dog-damned absorbent pads.

I guess once the novelty wears off, it isn't fun anymore. So dogs should only be borrowed and played with for a day, then returned to their rightful owners. I'm not mentally equipped to rear one full time as they're too needy.
