Uni

This semester has seen my worst performance ever in my three years in uni.

I must have skipped... a whole pile of classes. At least once for each unit (both lectures and tutorials).

Back in my first year i used to only skip freakin Business Stats as i couldn't be bothered to go all the way just for an hour's lecture (and it was damn easy). Hmm. And some of U-Nose Super Mario's Marketing as he was just incomprehensible.

Then i began cutting more classes, as the number of hateful 4-6 lectures increased.

And now! Sigh! Grace's lecture is my favourite as the unit is pretty simple and she is extremely thorough, but even so i've missed a few coz i couldn't wake up! XD

Oh and assignments. I haD never been late before!! But now i have. Two assignments in a row somemore. Not to say horrific-2-3-days late, it was just 30 mins (1 hour, for marketing strategy!). But still... late.

Brown Bear was telling me that he finished his assignment 1 hour before the due time. And while we were rushing ourselves crazy, i was thinking "hmm. i finished my assignment 1 hour AFTER the due time". XD

I would say that econs assignments are much easier than marketing assignments. Econs assignments are less demanding as they require less creativity and more understanding of theory and stuff, which is a great benefit as a form of indirect revision.

Under

Umbrella, ella, eh, eh.....

I found this scene particularly fun. So i snapped a picture of it. :)

!

So the Jaya Supermarket building as collapsed! @_@

Melv was telling me on MSN.

Sigh... I've spent many a childhood day playing in this mini fun fair thingy on the top floor! :P

I wonder how long will it take to repair a building that has, to put it in Melv's words, become "triangle shaped".

XD

Fast

I guess i just can't escape fast food.

Following McDonald's success (i would call it a success) with their Breakfast menu, KFC has come up with their own KFC a.m. to cater to the breakfast crowd, as well as to spanar some of McD's customers.

Priced at just 10 cents less than the McD Sausage McMuffin set, as well as the "no coupon needed" statement! Pretty aggressive attack to McD's chronic coupon distribution.

What i find freaky is this. Mind-blowingly delicious.. -_-" Oh~! KFC blew my mind!!! A bit of an overkill.

Hmm. But i do admit that it is quite delicious, though not to the extent of.. blowing my mind.

Now this one, is even more siao!

It tastes like conquering Mt. Everest blindfolded, 1 hand behind your back!

Too exaggerated la. I mean, conquering Mt. Everest, blindfolded, 1 hand behind my back should be fucking painful, with frostbite and muscleache and all that. If consuming your bloody Twister thingy reminds me of that... i doubt i would want to. xD

Exaggeration aside, the a.m. Twister was divine.

Egg, tomatoes, chicken fillets and pieces of hash brown wrapped together and drizzled with mayonnaise. Doesn't that sound deliciously cloying. Oh i like! XD

Mm. :D

I'll give them credit for one thing. The Twister is extremely filling, even for my standards.

I would rate them a 7 out of 10. The products' quality compensates their lack in variety. Perhaps they'll come up with more products.

Random! #7

Am actually considering the prospect of staying in uni for another semester.

Why? Why would i want to rush graduation at the age of 20, and get myself stuck in a thankless 9-6 job?

When we visited the rabbit farm (i have the pictures! lazy to post it), W's friend Joanna raised a question. "Wow. You're a student, your life must be quite happening, isn't it?"

And it got me thinking... No.. Not quite. Uni life should be fun, i should going places, seeing things, doing the things i can do before the golden opportunity slips away and i am grounded by work commitments and all that crap. But i get myself stuck in a... well thankless part time job. So i told Jes that i'll be quitting soon.

BUT! I guess the main reason i want to stay for another semester is due to my units.

1) Marketing (Planning and Implementation + Law) are two humongous killer subjects. I'll split 2 next sem, and another 2 next year. So i won't get killed. Third year subjects... Geez.

2) The elective unit i want to take (IB) is only offered in sem 1! So i'll just take that, along with Intro to e-business. Easy going last semester. Doesn't that sound great? :D

Taking 2 units in a semester will give me loaads of time to do what i want. I can go for cooking classes with dad. He'll be damn happy, for sure. Or whatever.

3) Well i guess there's also... insurance. In case i fail! XD i can retake my subjects.

Movies

Gah! Quite the number of hyped up movies this summer.

Wolverine kinda flopped, in my opinion. I've spent loads of time wikipedia-ing X-men during my internship days and X-Men just didn't do justice to their stories! Pah. And Wolverine's initial Jack-Skellington-esque bone claws were just hideous.

Am now waiting for Transformers! Am now waiting for Terminator.

Hmm. Maybe Angels and Demon. I remember reading the book, with all the elemental killings. Fascinating.

Star Trek is already screening. Nyahaha!

Look! It's Sylar, with a noob pudding basin haircut. Hilarious!

It's a way of telling his victims "yeah. this is how i slice people's heads open. pudding basin style".

Tire

Gah!

Freakishly tired. I was working yesterday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Scary huh. Jun from Events needed extra manpower to help out during the company events so i signed up.

I slept at 4, only to be ringtoned out of my fleeting slumber by Jes's morning call at 4.30. I spent a groggy half hour on the massage chair, then got ready and Fish picked me up to meet up at Jes's apartment. Picking up Gim, we reached KL Convention Centre at around 6.30.

The loading bay at KLCC was kinda cool. It looked like some zombie movie setting. After we dumped our stuff in a trolley, we went up a canggih elevator (with horizontal doors) right to Banquet hall 3. That was where the event was held. National Investor's Symposium (NIS), co-organized with RHB and the Star Online.

My role was pretty simple.

6.30 - 9 a.m. - help with the setting up: laptops, display LCD monitors, banners etc.

9 - 10.30 a.m. - pair up with the other WS and we were to do registration for Investor Relations (another event held on the same day).

Reached there at 9 only to find a team of chefs and waiters setting up some extremely beautiful trays of finger food. Hmph! Such pretty food sitting there and i couldn't touch any. XD

So apparently we were given the wrong time. Investor Relations was a lunch meeting, so we checked back at 10. The "VIPs" started arriving at 10.30. By 11.30 they were all inside the dining room.

Freakishly shiny silverware! X(

Good news was that we were allowed to help ourselves to the finger food.

Some of the best finger foods i have ever sampled. Excellent.

Finger food: assorted fruit tarts (mango, kiwi, raspberry, strawberry, blue berry), some vol-au-vents, stuffed cherry tomatoes, and some green chicken relish thingy.

All were remarkably tasty. My favourite would be the stuffed cherry tomatoes. Incredibly flavourful, with a small sprinkle of caviar on top. It looks kinda... ornate too. I wonder how much time they took to do these. The tomatoes were de-seeded too, you know.

So WS and i brought a small plate of these back to the NIS people and they asked for more. But the chef only provided us with a plate of the vol-au-vents (i think they threw the rest away and i was kinda horrified).

11.30 - 1.00 p.m. - lunch. TX went downstairs and packed KFC for us.

1 - 2.30 p.m. Bummed around. Randomly eating pieces of potato wedges.

2.30 p.m. There was some issue with the NIS hand-outs so Fish and I were asked to pop back to PJ to collect the hand outs. We reached Section 17 at 2.45 and waited from them to complete their photo-copying.

4 something p.m. - Reached KLCC Shopping Centre instead! WtF. I wasn't very familiar with KL roads and we ended up driving to some ulu-er places in KL and when the tall buildings were out of sight we knew something was wrong. xD

Fucking handouts were freaking heavy, to the extend that i couldn't clench my fingers together after i carried them. And i had to carry them from KLCC Shopping Centre, to the convention centre. My god. Forearms are aching like mad.

5.30 - 6 p.m. - Packed up and went home.

The pay i get is worth four full days of mindless phone-calling. Can you imagine? Pretty easy. Definitely worth my efforts (or lack... thereof).

happy mothers day

Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all the mum's around.

Especially my mum. Yes. :)

Alas. I have yet to purchase her present. XD

She wanted an Estee Lauder eye gel. I used to be immensely fascinated by this gel as a child. It came in a glass container the size of a 50 cent coin, about an inch thick. And the gel was transparent but shined with rainbow-colour hues with silvery thready thingies inside. Interesting.

Anyway. I don't know whether the same one is still on sale... Will check.

One Tree Hill

i have been saving money my whole life to buy all these dvds but i just got it for free yesterday! Season 1,2,3,4,5,6. I have been addicted to OTH since 6 years ago but still personally, there is no other series that came close to beat it. I dont see it as a DRAMA, in fact i felt lyke i watched my own circle of life everytime im watching it. I love all the characters in the movie because it resembles every single people who play roles in my life. I must say that i adore Peyton Sawyer very much because i see myself IN her. And yes, i love Lucas Scott.
