GPS

Uwargh!! I need a GPS, god damn it!

I got lost in KL yesterday and it was a major fiasco. I was supposed to be at Thean Hou temple, which is pretty near Mid Valley. Fastest way would have been to Sprint, then Kerichi my way over.

Unfortunately, i took the wrong turn, and ended up at... Jalan dunno-what. I can't remember the KL road names, but Jalan dunno-what is the one that i take if i wanna go to Bukit Bintang / PWTC. By the time i realized my mistake, i was already stuck in jam, jamming my way to KL! at 6pm no less.

Second fastest way, known to me of course, as i only know 2-3 roads in KL, would be to continue to Bkt Bintang anyway, then take the petaling jaya exit to Jln Syed Putra near Kuen Cheng Girl's School.

Unfortunately, after my way inch-by-inch for quite some time, i saw a sign pointing right to Old Klang Road / Syed Putra!! I immediately went right, but there were no subsequent road signs to guide me further. Fucking KL road signs!

I ended up driving all over. I swear at some point i was freaking out when i saw that i was driving to Seremban, and i quickly took the nearest road leading away from it. I called Nico who GoogleMapped me over the phone, but not too much help coz i didn't even know where i was to pinpoint my direction. Eventually i ended up at Jalan Tun Razak. "Oh Jln Tun Razak, that'll bring u to KLCC"...

Somehow i reached Bukit Bintang anyway, and it finally led me to Syed Putra and Thean Hou Temple, after more than an hour's driving.

Horrible.

***
Anyway. Thean Hou Temple.

My parents were representing one of the contributing restaurants for this Taiwanese Food Festival thingy held there in conjunction with Sin Chew's 80th anniversary.

I was supposed to be there to show some moral support, and to sample.. taiwanese food! :D

Thing was, i didn't really know that there was a dress code... And i was wearing some cargo shorts, and mud-sandy slippers... parking lot was muddy from the rain. After attracting some disapproving glances, i snuck into the kitchen instead -_-"

Hmm!!

Aaaaanyway! I got the research assistant job. I was wandering around the staffroom the other day (when i'm bored, i'll just float around the staffroom...) when i terserempak dengan Grace Lee and she asked me whether i was still interested in the job.

Apparently she'd lost my resume and couldn't call me. -_-"

I've submitted all the necessary rubbish for my application processing and i can start asap. Pretty crappy. I'll do mostly literature reviews, journal readings and all that ridiculous stuff. Just that i get paid this time! Ha!

Hmm! I'll get access to the printing room, and RA room (not that i'll stick around and use the room anyway.. i get to work from home) and so on. Hopefully, access to the staff parking lot as well! :D That would be freaking awesome.

List

Everyone has their own list of things that they don't like to do.

For instance, i don't like to
  • hang clothes
  • eat celery
  • dispose of dead lizard carcasses*
  • eat vegetarian Bak Kut Teh with ZY (doesn't that completely defeat the purpose of BKT?!!)
  • do homework**
Above list is randomly arranged la. Somewhere on that list is...
  • look for stuff in my mum's handbag

Now. Why don't i like to rifle through my mum's handbags? Let me tell you. She's a fan of these horrendous multi-compartmented handbags. Deaths traps, i call them. So freaking many compartments.

Let's say this is the handbag's "floor plan" so to speak. Hideous, i know, but illustrative. Seems like a pretty simple "W" shaped layout with 2 huge compartments A and B. Perfect for large just-throw-it-in items, like books, newspapers, cameras, whatever.

But Then!! The divider in the middle can be opened up to reveal compartment C! Slightly smaller, suitable for smaller items.

Then you find small little elf compartments hiding around. Like D, which is right outside. E, zipped, accessible via A. and F, and G.

Wtf... 7 freaking compartments. It's like the non magical version of Mad-Eye Moody's 7-layer trunk.

Now. My mum makes things worse coz she is something of a semi-meticulous person. She wants to be meticulous, but sometimes chuck things in randomly. Let's say D is right on the outside so she says it's for name cards, papers, and a pen and whatever. But i can find her name cards sometimes thrown around everywhere.

It might seem like i'm just bitching for nothing (which is kinda true, and i was playing with photoshop xD) but if you're in a hurry to find something, these death traps are annoying as hell. I spent ages searching for her ringing phone the other day, unzipping compartments and everything.

* Dead lizards are grotesque. I found one apparently squashed to death between the hinges of the refrigerator door! Fuck! Refrigerator! Can u imagine... hopefully it didn't contaminate the contents but anyway so it was there, there... dead-looking and plastered on the door.

Trying to avoid any direct contact with the creature, i had a plastic bag ready underneath, and attempted to scrape it off with a newspaper-wrapped metal ruler. That was when it came alive! ALIVE! It fell around my legs and lizarded away with lightning speed while my dad laughed himself silly nearby.

** I never liked to do homework, yeah. Who does!? But now that i am so god damn free, i am forced to finish my tutorial work out of sheer boredom. I would say that my performance this semester thus far has been surprising. I have yet to skip a class, and never late for more than 10-15 minutes. Amazing right? It's like a 180 from last semester.

over the rainbow...

Dear Sabya,

What is bothering you?

Was it because
of the workloads of assignment
that you have been delayed for time over time

OR
Was it because
of your bank account balance
which has been rapidly downsizing pathetically

OR
Was it because
of your workaholic boyfriend who work late all over the week & WEEKENDS
until you dont even know where to fit in

OR
Was it because
of your "used to be friends"
who smile to your face and talk shit about you right behind your back.

*what goes around comes around. Semoga ramadhan kali ini membawa seribu ketenangan dan keberkatan kepada kita semua. AMIN

Sweep

Well, hello there.

I haven't been updating for a bit. I've been watching shows like crazy. I re-watched the entire Chuck Season 1, and i finished Season 2 in 2 days. I swear my eyesight is gonna fly right down the drain.

***

Let's see. Last week. Swimming. Gym. Jogging. Incredible wtf! I can't believe myself when i think about it. But it's just a phase la, and i'm sure i'll plunge right back to my midnight bingeing (actually, i already have... wtf!) comfort zone.

I did go to the Kelana Jaya swimming pool though, at 2.30 p.m. after Marketing Law on Thursday. The pool is by far one of the best. Huge! 8 lanes, and remarkably clean. No horrifying mucus-like substance floating about the water, no tangles of hair. No retarded, noisy, flailing, water-splashing children. Unfortunately, no bikini chicks either... Friends on Aus exchange have reported sightings of them which are so very rare here in Malaysia.

"Ah!! So sunny! Later look like Indon!" You know them la... Obviously, my main objective is to swim and deflab. Lack of picturesque scenery should not deter my determination!

Anyway, since i've been burning quite a bit of calories, it's only fair that i ingest some right? To balance things up? XD

Ruffles! My favourite.

Divine. Divine!! Perfect for my hardcore show-seeing

Also!

While i was at BV, i picked up 2 packets of Kettle Chips. Highly recommended by Ennie, the .. Kettle Chip consumer.

Sweet Onion was not too bad. But Ruffles kicks its ass!

kaknim's engangement

highlights of the day
cantik ta sabya make-up kakak bakal pengantin?

Shiro's Belated Birthday Party

Textile Convention 2009

* my mid term break filled with these 3 days event plus the 2 days rehearsel which means I dont really take a break.
* my position is to usherette those VVIP's. Our VIP of the day is our Prime Minister wife. I heard lots of granny stories before i met her. But somehowe thank god she treat me well, tadela byk songeh sgt spt yg digembar-gemburkan..
*Besides Datin Rosma, i have to usher Tan Sri Visi Ibrahim Abu Shah and his beloved wife. I found that he is a very nice funny guy. While Puan Sri seyes baik, tak tipu..
* I also get to know DJ DIN, the MC for the UiTM convocation ceremony for the last 10 years. A very humble young man. Suara die seyes bole wat wanita-wanita di luar sane cair oke!
* Its tiring because as the organisers we have to be the first one to be there, and the last person to go home. Somehow i enjoy every single moment of it because at the end of the day, i tend to gain lots of experience n new friends as well!

Gah!

Bleak, bleak day! I was supposed to go check out the magnificent Olympic sized pool at Kelana Jaya today.

I was peering out at the sky and it was darkish cloudy-ish so i thought, damn, the haze.

Mana tau, once i got into my car, it rained. And it hasn't stopped yet.

U say depressing anot? Such greyness. V. cold, like free air cond. XD

***
So i went to gym. Merdeka Sales is going on full blast... So i strolled around window shopping for shoes. I've been to all over Mid Valley, Pyramid, Gardens, 1U and even bloody Summit but i haven't found any one that i like.

Until today of course. :P

1 Utama has FOUR frickin Nike outlets, you know. FOUR! Nike, another Nike, Nike Women, and Nike Classic. So i missed out Nike at the old wing and woah! Two pairs of shoes caught my eye. And now i'm torn. Sigh. I need a second opinion!

Weather

Lots of people feeling under the weather, under very bad weather.

I was driving to school and the sky was darkish cloudy-ish so i was anticipating heavy rain and hence decided to park in the carpark instead.

Mana tau, when i came out of the car, it wasn't cloudy at all. It was frickin' haze. Not as severe as the one years back, but still...

Judging from the number and variations of "damn, i'm sick" MSN personal messages, the haze isn't doing much good. I'm feeling pretty crappy now, like there's something blocking my throat. -_-"

Woah

Went swimming at Bangsar. 15 laps, to and fro. Which is not a big deal considering the fact that it isn't an olympic-sized pool (and many people can easily manage a non-stop-Olympic-sized-20 laps) but it doesn't make it any less tiring.

I popped over to Bangsar Village to take a look and i kept tripping over coz my thighs just gave out. -_-"

Freakin' pain now.

***
While i was randomly clicking on my phone, i realized that accumulated dozens of randomly snapped photos. Dozens! So loaded like 300+ pictures the other day and i'll be randomly posting some.

Like this.

Chicken Chop from Weiz Cafe, Solaris Mont Kiara.

Definitely one of the best chicken chops i've come to taste. Perfectly grilled with an infused smoky aroma, and drizzled with a mushroomy pepper sauce. Super peppery pepper sauce, just the way i like it. It was slightly crispy on the outside, and absolutely tender, which was surprising since most chicken breasts are disgustingly dry.

Accompanied by potato salad and raisined coleslaw. Only thing i can gripe about is the portion. Freakin tiny little thing. I finished it in less than 5! -_-"

Oh and i don't recommend other stuff in Weiz Cafe coz apparently they suck. My other friends were unlucky to have ordered some sucky, sucky dishes. Their seafood carbonara were like spaghetti soaked in milk, and the clams had sand in them. We were saying they should have headed down to Cold Storage and purchase a can of carbonara sauce at 3.99 and pour it over the spaghetti, and it would have definitely tasted better.

Service isn't that good also la. They serve drinks 1 by 1 you know, 1 after another, as in blend 1 already, serve, then come back and prepare another. Table of 12. WTF. Took them ages. So stop by at Weiz for their Chicken Chop, and nothing else. :P
