Phew! Finally, some time to catch my breath. The past few weeks have been nothing but hectic hell. All that juggling between presentations, and research stuff for the lecturers and Dota games, and Final Fantasy...
Finally presented our marketing plan to Jasmine. Not the best performance, but better than expected. Sure, Madeline lost interest and went out for a few times, and Jasmine was a bitch about the contingency plans, but to hell with all that. I am officially free!
At the very least... Free from cumbersome assignments. Next stop? Exams!! Just hiding round the corner. Ideal study plan? 1 week on Marketing Planning, 1 week on Marketing Law. Yeah. Like that's ever gonna happen.
Anyhow i must crank up my grades this semester, to justify my decision to cut down on the workload. Sure kena la, if i get my usual Cs. "Har? Take 4 subjects you get credit. Take 2 subjects you also get credit. Waste time only."

Now that i have got some time to kill, here's my Melaka + Seremban trip. Dad had to collect some stuff in Melaka a few weeks ago so i tagged along as a back up driver (sigh, the things parents ask you to do after you get your license, right? thank god i haven't got a younger sibling).
Stopped by at Seremban for beef noodles. According to Dad, Seremban beef noodles were very-the-damn nice laaaaa. Not to mention famous. The GPS was a godsend and was incredibly precise!! It led us to 4 or 5 different beef noodle places, only to find them... closed. -_-" Freakin' ulu areas. Saturday morning, for god's sake!
In the end, Dad and his pasar-going experiences brought us to them beef noodles at this horrendous wet market Pasar Besar Seremban or something. The place was bustling with morning shoppers and just full of Beef Noodle stalls. No Jusco / Giant i suspect. XD
Beef noodles. Pretty decent, yes. Light soup, tender beef. As it was approx 8 - 9 am, a steaming bowl of that was marvellous. However, nothing too extraordinary to shout out about la. Dunno what's so famous about it. Maybe i didn't try the correct stall.
The best beef noodles imo are
i) Taiwanese hot and spicy beef noodles, that i had on the same day, later, in Melaka!
ii) beef kuay tiao from my hometown. they're the BEST.
And you don't just get out of Seremban without these babies...
Siew Paos!!!!! Rachel, my groupmate is a Serembanese! I actually woke her up asking about siew paos and she didn't know how to explain. "Oh you're at the pasar? Are you eating the beef noodles (so it WAS famous..)?"
In the end she mentioned two places, one of them being Asia siew pao or something. So Garmin directed us. Fucking disappointment though... wtf. The pastry skin was a tad too thick. The best siew paos must have super thin crust that just melt off.
Bah. Found out that the actual most famous authentic thin-skinned siew pao was Seremban Siew Pao. Damn! Must ask her to da bao for me next time.
Eating sucky siew pao in Seremban. Such a slap in the face. S'like the other time i ate sucky char kuay tiao from Penang! Such irony.
Saving grace was this super super super glorious blueberry cheese tart on the right. It was just divine. Divine!! Not a fan of the whole.. blueberry cheese combo, but this one was just divine.

Now Melaka!
Dad was telling me in the car. "Eh you know what Melaka's famous for..? Its pineapple tarts."
Can. Anyone. Validate. This. Statement!?
When have pineapple tarts become some de facto product of Melaka?
Bah. Not a fan of these fibrous pineapple tarts. Pastry is goddamn crumbly. Not a pineapple fan to begin with.. Always feel as if my tongue got paper-shredded when i eat them.
Dunno why they're so famous la (that is, IF they are even famous at all). Pineapple tarts in Melaka? Never heard of it.
Hing Loong Taiwanese Beef Noodles. Yeah strange, to eat taiwanese stuff in Melaka but these are really really excellent. The lady owner's son actually has a branch open in Uptown, but it's nowhere as good as the original.
Fried Pork Ribs... Heaven. Crispy strip of heaven.
Pretty much a failed Melaka trip, i would say. If i cross check with the things YZ mentioned la, since he's a semi-local. Judging from our MSN conversation
Me: oh this morning i went melaka + seremban.
YZ: u drove there alone??
YZ: did u eat the babi satay?
YZ: did u eat the satay celup
YZ: did u eat the oo jian?
YZ: did u eat the thousand layer cake?
YZ: did u eat the wanton mee?
YZ: did u eat the gula melaka?
Me: eh no wor fuck!!
Me: all the things u listed. i din eat at all!!!
Epic fail!
Plus!
Sis was ranting on and on about all laksas and gula melaka and chicken rice ball.. -_-"
I think next time i'll go with friends, maybe.
