Moon

Ha. The Mid Autumn Festival is still a month away, but you can see mooncake vendors feverishly selling mooncake everywhere.

Last week Mum followed Heko to New Straits Times for a mooncake testing session and brought home quite a lot of fancy mooncakes (there was even this horrible gold-dust-sprinkled tiramisu mooncake that tasted like coffee flavoured lotus seed paste -_-"). I gobbled them up before i got a chance to snap some photos, and i feel kinda regretful.

So here are some pictures i took just a few moments ago.

The stylish Equatorial Hotel mooncake box. V. cool looking.

Green Tea Cheese with Egg Yolk? From Equatorial Hotel. Yum. I like egg yolks! I like mooncakes with egg yolks. I've always wished that there will be a mooncake with 5 egg yolks inside. *swoons* Ah.. My god. When i was a kid i used to eat all the egg yolks from mooncakes and leave the rest on table. And soon after i would kena sound for my bad habit.

Back to the green tea and cheese. It's just ridiculous. There's nothing remotely cheesey about that yellowy layer. Just some sorta flat hint of saltiness. V. bad. I know green tea is very in right now, but I just don't get green tea flavoured moon cakes. They taste just like them lotus seed paste, with a little bit of green colouring. That's it. And they wrap it all up and say it's green tea. Come on...

This is the Mixed Nuts Mooncake from Shangri-La. V. popular among the older generation i believe. V. nutty. And since am nuts over nuts, i like this mooncake, even though it has no egg yolk :(
They say mooncake goes well with tea. And the fancy packet above is tea. Hojo tea. Anyway it is unfermented Japanese tea, and doesn't taste too bad. I only like it's packaging. So funky and creative, no? Hojo reminds me of hobo. Or Professor Hojo of Final Fantasy VII.
Hojo in Dirge of Cerberus.

Some random pictures

F&N Grape. Mmm hmm.

And nuggets. Funny how arrangement of food can alter the attractiveness of food, no? Not a fan of bread-crumbed nuggets, but who am i to complain?
