Phew~! I'm back from a quick 1D1N trip to Genting, and i would say it was a... mitigated disaster.
1) I saw my money vanish in the casino within blinks of eyes.
2) 1D1N wasn't sufficient
1) My first ever gambling experience in a casino. Yeah, i'm a noob. I've been into the Sentosa Casino in Singapore but just for a quick gander as i was completely soaked by the freakin' dinosaur ride and had no budget / mood to gamble.
Now back to gambling, our table of choice was the tai sai table, as the minimum bet was 10 bucks which was by far the smallest amount around. It was halved when we returned after midnight. So... more economical for small fry gamblers like us.
3 dice, and the bet was for either outcomes: big (numbers 11-17) or small (4-10). You could also predict the actual number, which would pay around 6-18 times the bet amount.
SW won at least 400 bucks that way. His strategy was incredibly risky but worth it, IF your prediction is correct. If he predicted a big outcome, he would place bets on numbers 13,14,15,16, along with dice combinations of 2,3,4,5 and 3,4,5,6 (i call it the 4 + 2). So if the outcome did, indeed turn out big, he won at least 13 times.
But, uh, risky. And that is how i lost my 200 bucks. -_-"
Y'see, you have all your money riding on the big 4+2, which is the end of the number sequence. If the outcome turned out to be in the middle, or the other end, you lose. AND it was just my luck to enter the playing field when the outlier outcome started. It was logical to place a bet on BIG after a series of 4-5 SMALLs, but the small outcomes persisted for 7 times (fatal L formation)... Geeez. -_-"
SW and Fish all had winnings of at least 200-300 each, before they lost it all betting small against another persistent 8 BIGs at midnight with negative winnings of 150 each. Cow and I got sliced and diced early on during the first L formation in the afternoon.
At midnight, i brought in another 50 bucks, and left 2-3 hours later with the same amount. LoL! There was this uncle who won 2000+ within 3 rounds. Kena stun.
2) I think, 2D2N is a must for me, as judging from previous experience, i would spend a good part of the first night chatting with everyone and the rest of it being kept awake by a combination of hyperactivity and roommates' snores / wheezes.
I would somehow sustain myself till noon in a zombie state, after which i would return to my room and drop dead for several hours. So the thing about 1D1N is that i have to check out of my room, and the "dropping dead" gets delayed till i descend from the clouds of Genting, and the ordeal just knocks my entire system into disarray.
It was quite a disaster, but mitigated by the fact that it was an interesting experience, and i was in the company of my best friends. We had a laugh about it while sipping on credit-card-purchased cups of Starbucks (cash all dried up).
