Shop

Oof! I haven't been blogging for a week now. Nothing much happened. Saw some movies. Played lots of basketball.

I did spend one whole day shopping (shop! shop! 血拼!) with Fish and Nico and i didn't know that aimless ambling around in a shopping mall can take up so much time! I finally acquired a pair of decent jeans (with no holes in them). The cutting is somewhat strange and baggy but am happy enough.

My fantastic white shirt (with bone/mother-of-pearl buttons) remains elusive. Bah! I poked my head into shops and boutiques, scanning around for some tell-tale sign of a fantastic white shirt but none caught my eye, so my search continues!

I did, however, purchase an orange-and-black pair of sports shorts to wear to play basketball but alas it turned out to be too tight for me. Damn. Should always always try them on. Thank god for the return policy. Returned and exchanged it for an orange-and-blue pair. Orange-and-blue was goddamn contrasting but though horrible, they were no match for the other two colours: brown (most unflattering brown colour, just imagine those buncho poster-colour brown) and orange, or sugarcane green and yellow. Nasty!

Also purchased were two pairs of socks, as mine were getting worn out and have lost their elasticity. And that was all i bought after a day's outing. Disastrous, really.

***
I watched two movies. Wanted and Get Smart.

Wanted is really cool if you enjoy super-stylish and nail-biting action scenes with inexplicably impossible stunts. The Angelina sports-car scene was just damn cool. However if you are, like me, skeptical and inquisitive, you will be wrinkling your brows throughout the movie, thinking thinking thinking with disbelief. I mean, how! and how! can a person snipe another in such a manner from such a distance, with the bullet zipping between train carriages and donut holes? It's like shooting someone in 1U from my house. And the curved shots. I believe it is physically impossible to curve a gunshot using just a normal pistol. Incredible. Anyhow, Wanted was definitely worth the movie experience.

Get Smart = hilarious. Anne Hathaway was a brilliant candidate for Agent 99 as she really has this look as if she has had some work done to her face.

Streamyx

I friggin hate streamyx.

In addition to the shit ass tortoise-slow Internet connection they're offering, they have the tendency to crash on me. Internet was down the whole day today, which hampered my productivity. Productivity = downloading movies.

Spent quite some time with the annoyingly polite operators at TmNet who kept asking who my account owner was (sir?) and what my phone number was (sir?) for "reference" purposes. So each time i called i just spouted out my account username, my dad's name and my phone number, which seems weird, but it saved me a lot of time, and spit for the operators.

Turned out there was some problem with one of their "ports" and their technicians were resolving them efficiently so i asked them how long would it take to fix that problem and they said the maximum would be two working days (wtf!) depending on how "small" the problem was. Damn i should sue their incompetent asses off!

Anyway, i've finished downloading:

i) Run, Fat Boy, Run - But i haven't watched it yet.

ii) Vantage Point - I like the multiple point of views, but the repetitions were tedious.
iii) 21 - Sis had the DVD so i cancelled my download. 21 was fascinating. Man i've heard of card-counting but these people took it to a whole new level. aaaand, though i've never heard of her before, Kate Bosworth is one hot chick.

iv) Bee Movie - Bzzz. Found the bee-human interaction somewhat a buzz-kill. It's... bleargh.
v) 27 Dresses - Moderately entertaining at best. I never really liked romantic comedies.

New Word for Dictionary

I got this from a forwarded e-mail - check it out. Hahaha. Fucking hilarious man! :)

There is possible plan underway to apply to the Oxford and Webster to include a new word for their 2009 dictionary:

badawi [baa-daa-wee] (noun): To start something full of promises but ends in disappointment, failure and/or disaster.

Eg:
I'm trusting you to perform this task well... don't do a badawi, ok?

Whatever I do, I will always find a way to badawised it.'

France badawied their Euro 2008 campaign. England pre-badawied theirs, while Italy were guilty of over-badawification.

Langkawi Day 2

After a good night sleep, Day 2 is Island Hopping Day! Wheeeee!

Are you ready? Let's go!

on our way to board the boat :)

roaring away!

Beras Basah Island

These tourists from Hong Kong were so mesmerized by the monkeys

Group Photo

The famous Tasik Dayang Bunting! From the picture you can see this side of the lake where the hill resembles the shape of a pregnant maiden lying on her back.

It is rumored that the water of the lake possesses some mystical power of helping barren women to bear children. Google it up :)

Ah hah! We're there!

How contradicting! :P

How do we keep Langkawi islands clean when the instruction board is so filthy? Haha.

Langkawi's Happy Feet! Tee hee!

Another group photo. Me and Angel's standing position was intentional - the alphabet "G" were missing from both words.

OUR YUMMY FOOD FOR LUNCH!

Crabs

Fried fish and fried chicken - fresh from the wok!

Oh

Nothing beats the holidays.

Have downloaded quite a few movies during the week.

i) Bridget Jones's Diary - I used to have a VCD of this but i lent it to someone i couldn't remember and couldn't, obviously, get it back. Bridget Jones rocks. Tragic spinster. Chain-smoker. Wine-glugger. Overweight. Yes, she rocks.

ii) Drillbit Taylor - What kinda weirdo has the name "Drillbit"? Moderately entertaining. Bullying of three nerdy kids. Cruel. Hilarious. Predictable. We all know what happens to bullies, don't we?

iii) My Mom's New Boyfriend - I was looking for a little bit of amusement, and i saw this categorized under "Comedy" so i downloaded it. It turned out to be rather stupid. Minimally entertaining.

iv) The Onion Movie - This has got to be the most surprisingly movie! Released direct-to-video, it is indeed a hilarious combo of sketch and satire. Brilliant. Just brilliant. Try searching YouTube and you'll see some clips of it. Melissa Cherry and the Cock Puncher are fantastic.

v) Meet the Spartans - Ha! I've been wanting to see this. Meet the Spartans is one of those films that we watch knowing that it will be stupid so we can actually enjoy the parody. Downloaded version rocks, as it is definitely not worth it to see this in the cinema.

vi) CJ7 - One of the Chinese New Year films that i missed as i chose Kung Fu Dunk over this. I like the adorable little jello alien dog. <3

Downloaded movies aside, i did fork out some cash to see the following movies in the cinema:

vii) Superhero Movie - Stupidest movie ever. Watched it in Pavillion the other day. What i said about Meet the Spartans didn't apply here, cause i went in expecting a stupid movie but it turned out to be even worse than what i had expected. Urgh geeez. They were trying to force in some of the humour... and argh! Waste of my money.

viii) IncrediHulk - 1 word. Incredible. :D Edward Norton looks like some sorta mechanic in the poster. Anyway Hulk rocked. I like his dark green colour instead of that lime jell-o green he had in the previous Ang Lee's Hulk. And his height was decent enough, not big like a freakin building. I read that Hulk has some really hardcore insane super powers, able to jump across continents and so on but that's just ridiculous to put in a movie.

Currently downloading:
ix) Run, Fat Boy, Run
x) 21
xi) Vantage Point
xii) 27 Dresses (argh XD)

Instant!

This is, IMO, the most fantastic instant noodles ever.

Beef noodles. Spicy! Mum ordered a few cartons of these when she visited Taiwan last year. And i love !

Been meaning to write this entry a long time ago, but i kept forgetting to take pictures before i gobbled the noodles up. Too scrumptious to stop and take pictures. Hmm! Not bad kinda slogan.

一度赞红烧牛肉泡面, 绝对让你忘了拍照片! XD XD

Judging by the packets of MSG-bin-laden condiments and flavourings inside, this bowl of noodles isn't the healthiest choice there is. Probably will kill me in the long term, but who can resist short term pleasures?

First packet is this brownish paste thingy which is extremely salty. Wtf. I actually tried eating some of it undiluted and it was nasty. But it tastes fine with water added.

Brrr! Chilli paste. This is responsible for the spiccccy explosiveness within this bowl. Very spicy. And spicy is good!

Then there is the typical dried vege stuff, with a bunch of seasoning powder.

And, finally, the fourth packet. This is the reason why this bowl of beef noodles is different and superior to any other typical instant noodles.

Beef. Tightly sealed in the air-tight and opaque packet above so it minimizes exposure. Ooh-lala. Real chunks of beef. Swimming in this thick gravy. Divine. Just divine. I've tried pork noodles as well, with pieces of pork instead of beef and it was not too bad either. :D Just pour everything together and u will get this:

Instant noodles, anyone?

***
I'm not sure whether you can find them here, but they're everywhere in Taiwan, mostly sold in the ubiquitous 7-11s (freakin' loads of 7-11. at least one every other block).

Comparatively speaking, 7-11s in Taiwan trumps those in Msia. They have this enormous variety of beverages (and instant noodles! fabulous instant noodles), most of which have celebrities' faces (Jay Chou/Jolin) plastered on them. I once bought this box of Pringles with Jay Chou on it. :D

They also have this heated shelf for hot beverages in the winter but i don't really care much for hot drinks.

alhamdulillah

Sejak 2 tahun lepas, saya dilemparkan dengan pelbagai cacian, kutukan, sindiran sama ada konfront mahupun cakap2 belakang baik dari saudara mara mahupun rakan taulan. People is judging me just because I was in Form 6 instead of University.
Bagi mereka Form 6 hanyalah untuk org yang gagal spm dan ingin memperbodohkan lagi diri sendiri dengan membuang masa di Form 6

Today I just prove em’ wrong. STPM is not just a waste of time.
Its been a long journey but it worth it!
I got the university call back today :)
So I think im already half way to be a very successful wedding planner in the future. When the time comes, please don’t be sorry cos I might forgive but never forget

Somehow on the other hand, there’re long list of people who always behind my back
You know who you are, and I sayang you guys so much.
Last but not the least, thank god for listening to all my prayers. I love you so much and will always be.

Tiring

Woo! Went to KL with fish (steamed), Nico and JC today.

1 thing i want to say is: i don't like public transport.

Since the blaarrdy petrol price has gone flying, i took the LRT > KL Central > Monorail (across the road) > Bukit B*ntang. Pussy-willow! It was blaardy hot, waiting for them trains to arrive under sweltering weather. Took me around 40 mins to reach as opposed to the 15 mins driving time. Sighs. But i guess i saved lotsa travel cost, it was around 10 bucks to and fro Bukit Bintang. Not bad.

Sungei Wang: Lala Central. Didn't do much here. Just passed through on the way to

Low Yat: Sighs. Low Yat's got ''cleaned up'' so i couldn't buy much games there. I did, however, buy 2 pendrives. 1 for sis and 1 for myself since i've lost mine.

Can anyone recommend me some games? Sighs. I saw some super fantastic game trailers for PS3. MGS4, DMC4, Soul Calibur 4. All the 4s... And i have yet to see more trailers for FF13. I want a PS3! Will have to start scrounging some cash.

After Low Yat we popped over to

Pavillion: and by saying 'popped over', i mean running under the rain. Fickle weather, 1 minute sunny, the other pouring. Anyway, i saw these mat salleh women who were kinda soaked but still shopping as if nothing happened. Ganas.

Pavillion turned out to be fascinatingly spacious. V. good design. I like. V. artistic and peaceful. I love the food-filled lower ground level. The restaurants look a great deal better than other outlets. Better designs. Only at Pavillion. Heck, even the Red Box + looked better than normal Red Boxes. Pah! The 5th floor was oso filled with super expensive but extremely pretty restaurants. Fantastic designs. And there was a 5 storey Coach outlet. Wtf! Unfortunately the stuff in Pavillion are far far far beyond the affordable range.
